Look at that pile of huge conch shells! This poor gentleman stood in the boiling sun all day long yanking the squishy conch from their happy homes so the tourists could feed on them. ROUGH! Of course, we did have a nibble and they were delicious and well, of course we also stole a few shells to sneak home in our suitcases.
Once back to our hotel room, we decided it would be a good idea to put the shells in the dishwasher so they wouldn’t stink up our suitcases on the way home. The steam from the dishwasher was so intense it ended up setting off the fire alarm to the entire hotel. Oops! Just another day on vacation with the Byrd gals. :)
