And now for the rest of the story…
We had an amazing dinner at Anacoana over two bottles of scrumptious wine. I had honey encrusted Mahi Mahi with a vanilla carrot sauce and steamed bak choy -foggedaboutit!
After dinner, we decided to try our luck at the casino. (Gambling is legal in the islands). We popped down the street to Casablanca’s Casino where I quickly got up $50 on the blackjack table. My sis, feeling lucky as it was her 25th bday jumped in on roulette and immediately lost her wad of singles. Alas it was not our night at the tables.
But the real action didn’t start until my mother revealed that she was beyond ”sleepy” and refused to hand over the rental car keys on the basis that neither Brooklyn or myself were sober enough or licensed for international driving. It was at that moment, backing out of the parking lot in front of the uniformed attendants, that my mother backed our booger green Ford Focus directly into the side of the casino…HARD.
The attendants doubled over in laughter, my mother hit the gas pedal and we took off into the night as fast as that Focus would carry us.
That casino may have snagged my $50, but rest assured, we snagged the paint and plaster off the side of the building.
Thank goodness for insurance. :)
More adventures to come.
Tomorrow my sis and my mom will tackle their first open water scuba dive. I plan to sun on the boat and snorkle since I didn’t have time before leaving the states to get certified. Only the Lord above knows what may occur.
I promise to keep you posted. :)
